Float Glass Price Surges In China

Domestic Soda Ash price in China have risen another 7.6 % this month. In the mean time, the stock level of the main float glass manufacturers in China have also hits a 17 months low.

The industry chain survey learned that low inventory is the main reason manufacturers continue to increase the price. The floor space of housing completed increased by 22.9% year on year, and the demand for glass remained booming in the completion cycle, and there was still upward support in the third quarter.

The global flat glass market is expected to reach US $352 billion by 2028, with a CAGR of 3.6%. The growth of the market will be driven by increased spending on buildings and the need for more energy efficient buildings. The growing preference for natural light in buildings has driven consumption of glass for roofs and curtain walls, which is expected to play a key role in increasing demand for flat glass products in the coming years.
